About Chris and Randy
Chris is a native of the Hudson Valley of New York who followed his roots back to New England. Chris has been RVing since 1973 and started in the industry in 1998 and has worked primarily on the technical side as a technician, service manager, business owner, journalist, and educator. A Recreational Vehicle Technical Institute Level 4 Master Certified RV Technician, Chris teaches RVTI courses for the Pennsylvania RV and Camping Association, as well as consumer seminars at America’s Largest RV Show in Hershey, PA., and is a member of the New England RV Dealer’s Association’s technical advisory board. The former technical editor for Trailer Life and MotorHome magazines, Chris keeps his hand in RV media, contributing to Family RVing Magazine, RVBusiness, Explore Pennsylvania, The RV-PHD.com websites, RVing Today TV, and more. Teaching is his primary focus; however, in addition to the above, Chris provides educational seminars at the Springfield RV Camping Show (MA) and RV Supershows locations across North America. Chris enjoys RV travel with his wonderful bride Karen and furry feline mascots Fitz and Jack, is involved in maritime history, and loves outdoor grilling and smoking.
Chris Dougherty 
Randal, a Northern Vermont native, is a Service and Orientation Director at Pete’s RV Centers, where he spends much of the year on the road, training staff across eight stores in six states. Known for his love of teaching, he also is commonly found doing seminars at RV shows around New England each winter.
In his rare downtime, Randal’s passion for cooking comes alive in his outdoor kitchen, especially with his new pizza oven. He’s a frequent visitor to Las Vegas, where he enjoys the world-class dining scene. Most importantly, he loves spending time with his daughter, Lillian-Rose, exploring cities and the southern coastline. Randal also contributes to RV Pro magazine and serves on NERVDA’s technical advisory board, sharing his insights with the RV community.

Talkin’ RVs Introduces New Podcast
Techie RV Podcast with Chris Dougherty and Randy Murray
Springfield, MA— 11/13/24 — , Talkin’ RVs announced the immediate availability of Talkin’ RVs, a new, one-hour format show modeled after the famous Car Talk radio show on NPR. The podcast is released on Saturday mornings, twice monthly, starring Randy Murray, director of service and orientation at Pete’s RV Centers, and Chris Dougherty, president of Dougherty RV Consulting.
“We’re super excited to start this show, combining over 70 years of RV experience with irreverence, humor, and occasional chicanery,” said Chris Dougherty, Chief Cook and Bottle Washer at Talkin’ RVs.
